The zombies experience will arrive to the Modern Warfare franchise with the November release of Modern Warfare III, and an official trailer has been released for the gruesome, open world experience under “Operation Deadbolt.”
Under Operation Deadbolt, Task Force 141 must stop Viktor Zakhaev, an antagonist from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), who has has catalyzed an outbreak of zombies using a vial of Aetherium. Like the Dark Aether crystals from the previous Zombies storyline, Aetherium is a zombie-creating virus only now in a more deadly form.
To handle the zombies, Task Force 141 must uncover Zakhaev’s full plans with Kate Laswell leading the operation alongside Johnny “Soap” MacTavish, bringing in a familiar face from the Zombies franchise in Captain Sergei Ravenov, the Spetsnaz operative aligned with Requiem in the fight again Omega Group in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies storyline.
