San Diego Comic-Con is underway and Insomniac Games has released the story trailer for their upcoming highly anticipated release, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Built from the ground up for the newest PlayStation means the game will see a large set of improvements over the 2018 and 2020 installments, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, including faster web-swinging, near-instant character switching, and better visuals. The sequel will give players the opportunity to take advantage of the larger map, which now includes Brooklyn and Queens, as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face iconic villains such as Venom, Kraven the Hunter, and Lizard. Both Peter and Miles have story missions exclusive to them, and both are featured as the main protagonists in the story. The artwork also showcases the new abilities each protagonist will showcase in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Peter taking on the symbiote, and Miles having evolved bioelectric Venom powers.

In addition to the story trailer for the game, a custom limited edition hardware design will be released for the PlayStation 5, similar to the limited edition custom PlayStation 4. For those who do not already own a PlayStation 5, a console with a cover design featuring the symbiote closing in on the Insomniac White Spider icon will be available to purchase with a matching DualSense wireless controller. The bundle also includes a voucher for a digital copy of the game.
Those who already own a PS5 console will also be able to purchase the limited edition items separately as individual products. Those with a PS5 console with a disc drive can purchase the PlayStation 5 Console Covers – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition and those who own the PS5 Digital Edition can purchase the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Console Covers – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition. The DualSense wireless controller – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition will also be able to purchase separately.
Pre-orders for these limited edition items will begin on July 28, and webheads can read more details on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2-themed hardware on the PlayStation blog. The items will release on September 1.
