The first PlayStation State of Play for 2024 has concluded with over 40 minutes of announcements, trailers, and more updates, including extended looks at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, both of which are coming to PlayStation 5 this year. The announcements that piqued the most interest in us includes:

Kojima Productions news

Legendary creator Hideo Kojima announced his return to the action-espionage genre with a title with which he “hopes to transcend the barriers between film and video games,” Physint. While not much could be shared on the freshly-announced Physint, Kojima was still able to keep the announcements coming with the reveal of the official title for the Death Stranding sequel.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach‘s snyopsis reads:

“Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam — with companions by his side — sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.”

Silent Hill franchise news

Konami Digital Entertainment was present for two announcements for their beloved franchise, announcing Silent Hill: The Short Message, a free-to-play Silent Hill spin-off that will be available to play later today. In addition to the spin-off announcement, Konami also shared a combat reveal trailer for the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, though a release window or date has still yet to be given.

Until Dawn rebuild

No longer stuck in the rumor mill, the Until Dawn remake was officially announced during the State of Play with a trailer showcasing the remake’s updated graphics for PlayStation 5 and PC. Players can relive the nightmare sometime in 2024.

All of the additional announcements and trailers can be found on PlayStation’s official YouTube here.
