‘Sing 2’ Has a New Poster and A Stunning Shadow Art Series

Share

Illumination’s animated musical Sing‘s upcoming sequel Sing 2 got a new poster today, along with a stunning shadow art series.

Set to hit theaters December 22, Sing 2 will follow the characters we fell in love with in the first movie as they move onto bigger, and hopefully better things. Featuring the original’s all star cast plus a special guest star: music icon Bono in his animated film debut.

The movie will follow Buster (Matthew McConaughey) as he aims to take his success with the New Moon Theater to another level by debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in the glamorous Redshore City. However, with no connections Buster and his cast — including harried mother Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), rocker Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy Meena (Tori Kelly), and provocateur Gunter (Nick Kroll) — are forces to sneak into the theater.

Then, in a desperate attempt to get the attention of the theater’s owner — ruthless mogul Jimmy Crystal (Bobby Cannavale) — Gunter pitches an outrageous idea that Buster runs with. Ultimately this winds up leaving Buster in a tough place as he has promised an appearance from reclusive rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono), whom Buster has never met, and Mr. Crystal has threatened to drop Buster off the top of a building if he fails.

The new poster (above) shows the characters in the natural place: the stage, while the shadow art series (below) shows the actor behind the animated character on stage with their character as their shadow.

The emotional journey of creating a new show and attempting to convince the reclusive musician to come back to the stage will make Sing 2 the feel-good cinematic event of the year. Be sure to check out the new trailer as well, and for all things Sing 2 be sure to visit their website.
