It’s been almost 15 years, and a pair of Pokémon games born for the Nintendo DS platform are finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. After much speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are getting their own remakes — Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The news was confirmed during today’s Pokémon Presents.

Watch the announcement clip below.

Trainers will gear up to experience the nostalgia of the Sinnoh region after choosing from the classic fourth-generation starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. Explore a familiar world in a brand new light and encounter the iconic Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia once more.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will arrive on the Nintendo Switch in late 2021. An exact release date has not yet been confirmed.

Stay tuned to see what else is still to come throughout this special year that marks the 25th anniversary of Pokémon.
