Back in the year 2003, a science fiction romance tale of love and loss was penned by author Audrey Niffenegger — The Time Traveler’s Wife. The story follows a man named Henry, who unfortunately has a genetic disorder that causes him to travel through time sporadically. Enter Clare, his beloved wife that unfortunately must cope with a marriage that is anything but predictable. The story was adapted into a film in 2009, which starred Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.
The powerful, emotional, tragic, and romantic relationship of Henry and Clare is now making its return once more over a decade later, this time in the form of an HBO series. The roles of the starring couple will be filled by Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones) and Theo James (Divergent), respectively.
The series, which is currently in pre-production, will be adapted by Steven Moffatt (Doctor Who, Sherlock), who will also executive produce alongside Sue Vertue and Brian Minchin via Hartswood Films.
