If you are a big movie fan then keep reading for some exciting news!
HBO Max has partnered once again with Let Them All Talk director Steven Soderbergh to direct KIMI, the latest New Line Max Original from the studio with Big Little Lies star Zoë Kravitz starring. The film will premiere only on HBO Max. KIMI was written by David Koepp who also produced the film with Michael Polaire. There has been no official release date announced as the film has yet to begin filming. The news was first reported by Deadline.
KIMI follows a tech worker who has agoraphobia (the extreme fear of open crowded places or leaving ones home) that has stumbled across recorded evidence of a violent crime during an ordinary review of data and attempts unsuccessfully to report it up the chain of command at the company she works at. With no luck due to resistance from those she tries to report it to, she makes the difficult choice to get involved — meaning she will have to leave the safety and security she finds in her apartment.
KIMI will be the second collaboration between Soderbergh, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. Pictures Group. This film will also be the third partnership between HBO Max and Soderbergh. Soderbergh previously directed the crime thriller No Sudden Move, with a star studded cast including Julia Fox, Brendan Fraser, Don Cheadle, David Harbour, Kieran Culkin, and many more. His most recent film Let Them All Talk, starring the one and only Meryl Streep, premiered on HBO Max this past December.
Kravitz just finished her role as the notorious Catwoman opposite Remember Me star Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeve’s The Batman and has gained popularity as one of the stars in the Hulu series High Fidelity. If this film is anything like other films by Soderbergh, KIMI is sure to keep you and your toes from beginning to end and Kravitz is sure to be a powerhouse in this thriller. Stay tuned and more KIMI news is announced!
