Christian Bale and Director Scott Cooper To Re-Team on ‘The Pale Blue Eye’

Christian Bale and director Scott Cooper, who previously worked together on Out of the Furnace and Hostiles, will be reuniting once again!

Deadline has announced that Bale will star in Cooper’s adaptation of The Pale Blue Eye. The film is adapted from the Louis Bayard novel of the same name. The upcoming thriller will focus on a series of murders that occurred at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point in 1830. Bale will play the detective investigating the murders, who’s joined by “a detail oriented young cadet” who eventually becomes the renowned author Edgar Allan Poe.

Along with starring in the film, Bale is also set to produce with Cooper. They are joined by John Lesher and Cross Creek’s Tyler Thompson. The film is scheduled to begin filming this fall. There’s currently no projected release date.
