New Trailer and Cast Announced for ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’

Hunting monsters for money is the way of the Witcher as we see in the brand new trailer just released from Netflix in anticipation for their upcoming anime film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

We all know Geralt of Rivia, but before this famous Witcher came Vesemir, voiced by the talented Theo James who you may recognize from the Divergent series and his previous voice acting in Castlevania.

In this new trailer we see Vesemir is determined to break free of the role society has placed him in. We see him relish in the reputation Witchers have for being “true diabolical creatures, fit only for killing” stating that “fear and ignorance are good business.”

On this journey across the Continent with Vesemir we will no doubt come in contact with many colorful characters.

Tetra Gilcrest is a powerful sorceress voiced by Lara Pulver from Sherlock fame. Gilcrest and her followers have a mission to see that magic is not being misused on the Continent.

Lady Zerbst, one of the king’s most trusted advisors and a huge supporter of the Witchers is voiced by Mary McDonnell. Viewers will recognize her voice from work on Battlestar Galactica and Major Crimes.

Deglan is the leader of the Witchers and is a true warrior that will stop at nothing to protect his “boys.” The fabulous Graham McTavish from Outlander will voice Deglan, his voice may also sound familiar from work on Castlevania.

This trailer gives the impression that The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and Vesemir will have a little more of a playful tone to it than its live action predecessor. And have no fear Witcher fans, there is another tub scene for viewers to enjoy.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf premieres on Netflix on August 23.
