Emma Holly Jones’ feature film directorial debut, Mr. Malcolm’s List, has added three new cast members to its lineup. Ashley Park (Emily in Paris), Theo James (Sanditon, How it Ends), and Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw, Fresh Meat) join the previously announced Frieda Pinto, Ṣọpẹ́ Dirisu, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. Ashton will replace Constance Wu who was originally attached to the project.
Mr. Malcolm’s List, based on the novel of the aforementioned name, follows Julia (Ashton) a society lady who was rejected by Mr. Malcolm, London’s most eligible bachelor. She had failed to meet one of the items listed on his requirements for a bride. Feeling shunned and humiliated, she enlists the help of her friend Selina (Pinto) to help her get revenge on Mr. Malcolm by tricking him into thinking he has finally found his perfect match.
The pairs devious plan seems to be going smoothly, until Henry (James) threatens the whole scheme by courting Selina. When Lord Cassidy (Jackson-Cohen) throws himself in to meddle with the affairs, everything is shaken off course.
