It’s all lead up to this

The combined forces are gearing up for one final showdown with Inaros and his fleet that they hope will take him out for good. They take out the Pella momentarily, but Marco counterfires at them. Drummer plans for a collision course with her ship to the Pella and sends all the other ships away. Soon after, she realizes they’ve done all they can.

Meanwhile, on the Roci, Amos and Draper among other ships are planning to launch a bunch of pods with them inside. The aim is to overwhelm the rail gun so that the ships can pass through safely, and then disarm it. Once landed, they set their sights on the control bunker but they’re getting fired upon on all sides. Eventually, Draper takes them out, but she also blows up the rail guns.

Naomi’s plan

Back to the drawing board, Naomi devises a plan to hit the Ring’s threshold with every ounce of power they have to wake the entities up. However, if they wake up they may stay awake. The ships override their reactors just as Marco passes through. He quickly realizes what they are doing but it’s too late … they’re disappearing. Forever. Naomi is crushed at the loss of Filip but what she doesn’t realize is he survived. At the last second, he was able to escape off the ship.

The formation of the Transport Union

Amazon Studios

In a meeting with the prime minister, Drummer, Holden, and Chrisjen are discussing the formation of a transport union. They can’t seem to agree on anything, so Holden steps up. He says Inaros could do what he did because the people saw the future and realized they weren’t in it. If they want to gain trust, they have to put their own lives in people’s hands. Not pretend to. Avasarala suggests someone must lead that has no ties to either side, appointing Holden.

At the ceremony to confirm Holden as President of the Transport Union, he gives a speech full of hope for the future. At the end, he talks about his own conditions before taking the job. One of them? Appointing Drummer as vice president. His first act as president is to resign. The future of the Belt has to be led by a voice of the Belt, so he proudly appoints Drummer as president.

All six seasons of The Expanse are available to stream on Prime Video.
