Solangelo lives! Not long ago, Rick Riordan announced that he would be writing another book set in the universe of Percy Jackson. Today, it was announced by Entertainment Weekly that Riordan will be returning to the PJO universe in the form of a story centered around son of Hades Nico di Angelo, who has been a staple of the books since the original series, and his boyfriend Will Solace (son of Apollo)!
The new book does not have a title yet, but Riordan has said it should release in 2023. The novel is set to pick up after the events of Riordan’s latest series, The Trials of Apollo, in which Nico and Will set out on a mission to help save Bob the Titan who sacrificed himself to save Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase in the Heroes of Olympus series.
For the first time, Riordan will be co-writing with fellow YA author Mark Oshiro, an author familiar with writing acclaimed stories featuring young LGBTQIA+ characters as well as a long-time fan of the Percy Jackson series.
We can’t wait to see what adventures Nico di Angelo and Will Solace get up to in Rick Riordan’s next book. While most details are still unknown to the public, it is known that the book will release in 2023. As always, stay tuned for more updates.
