Ben Barnes Releases First Single and Music Video for “11:11”
The anticipation has paid off as fans get a first taste of what Ben Barnes has in store for them with the release of “11:11,” the first single off his EP Songs For You. When Barnes announced his plans for the EP on his birthday, back in August, he gave the world a little preview for the music video. Now, fans can enjoy the full experience!
The music video for “11:11” features Barnes alongside Evan Rachel Wood. This pairing may seem a bit random to some, but if you are a fan of Westworld, this video is a happy reunion of two favorite fan characters. Barnes and Wood were co-stars on the HBO series for several seasons, and their journey to becoming friends can be seen through their fantastic Dubsmash history on Barnes’s social media.
The aesthetic of the video has a touch of old-school Hollywood glamour that perfectly fits the song’s tone. Throughout the video, we follow Barnes and Wood as their paths flow around each other. It is clear there are feelings between the two, but they can never quite get in the same place at the same time. As the song builds, you can’t help but feel the love and well wishes that Barnes put so poetically into the song lyrics. The video ends with Barnes on center stage showcasing his amazing vocals as Wood watches on.
As the song came to a close, I realized I had a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. Like many of Barnes’ fans, I have been waiting and wishing for this, and to say that he delivered is an understatement. With the release of this single, Barnes has just fanned the flames of excitement for the rest of his EP to be released. Barnes was quoted in a recent interview with People as saying, “Making this video for “11:11″ has been one of the most satisfying creative experiences of my life.”
Songs For You will be available for streaming and download on October 15. If you are interested in more details on the EP, check out our article here.
