After years of fans dreaming and wishing, the news finally broke early today that Ben Barnes will be releasing his first EP!
Barnes is an England based actor, most known for his roles as The Darkling in Shadow and Bone and Prince Caspian in the Chronicles of Narnia trilogy. Barnes pursued a career in music many years ago at the very beginning of his journey in the entertainment industry. After several “false starts,” Barnes turned to acting and was quickly thrown into the spotlight. With several of his movies featuring Barnes’ vocals, most notably the film Jackie and Ryan, fans have been requesting and hoping for an album for years. One look at Barnes’ Instagram and anyone could see the passion and heart he has for music, and with the vocals to back it up, this EP will no doubt be worth the wait!
Barnes released the news himself on his personal Twitter account while celebrating his 40th birthday. “I have wanted to create something more personal and intimate, to offer up something joyful, honest, soulful and passionate; I hope that you find some of this on my EP,” Barnes tweeted.
The EP will be titled Songs For You and will be released on October 15. Fans can pre-order the first single titled “11:11” now. With this being an EP and not a full album, it will most likely have somewhere between two to five songs. The title of the first single has been teased by Barnes on his social media the past few weeks with pictures of himself posing with watches stopped at the 11:11 hour. It goes to show how amazing Barnes is to give his fans a gift like this when it is his birthday being celebrated.
