BBC Books Announces River Song Novel ‘The Ruby’s Curse’ by Alex Kingston

Our favorite time-travelling archaeologist River Song is back for a new Doctor Who adventure in a solo novel The Ruby’s Curse. The novel is written by Alex Kingston herself  and will be released on May 20, 2021. The story will also feature the private detective Melody Malone, River Song’s alter-ego.

The Ruby’s Curse is published by BBC Books and the synopsis of the novel is already available:

“She’s got ice in her heart and kiss on her lips…

1939, New York. Private Eye, Melody Malone, is hired to find a stolen ruby, the Eye of Horus. The ruby might hold the secret to the location of Cleopatra’s tomb – but everyone who comes into contact with it dies. Can Melody escape the ruby’s curse?

Alex Kingston first played River Song on Doctor Who in the 2008 Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead episodes during the Tenth Doctor era and did regular appearances on the show during Matt Smith’s tenure on the show. Kingston’s last appearance on the show so far was in the 2015 episode The Husbands of River Song. The actress also reprises regularly her role in the Big Finish audio dramas series The Diary of River Song.
