A new official trailer has been released for the 60th anniversary special for Doctor Who.
The trailer previewed the return of both David Tennant and Catherine Tate as The Doctor and Donna Noble. Last time viewers saw Donna she had to have her memory wiped by the Doctor to save her from her mind from being destroyed because of an influx of Time Lord knowledge that was downloaded into her brain. The trailer showed that the Doctor’s past has once again caught up to him because instead of regenerating into a completely different person as per the rules of regeneration The Doctor has regenerated into a version we’ve already seen before. While trying to figure out why his regeneration has gone wrong and why Donna has mysteriously re-entered his life, the doctor is challenged by a foe who seems to be from the past.
Joining Tennant and Tate in the three specials is Yasmin Finney, Jacqueline King, Bernard Cribbins, Karl Collins, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave, Ronak Patani, and Neil Patrick Harris. The trailer also gave viewers a glimpse into the 15th Doctor who will be portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa. These specials also sees the return of former showrunner Russell T. Davies who is helming the specials and season 14 of the series.
