Zac Efron to Star in Survival Thriller ‘Gold’

Zac Efron is set to star in the new survival thriller, Gold! The film follows two strangers that stumble across the largest gold nugget ever discovered. The two devise a plan that will help protect it and excavate their bounty with one of them leaving to secure necessary equipment while the other man stays.

The one who stays has to endure harsh weather conditions, wild dogs, and intruders. Per the official synopsis, the man must deal with all of this while “battling the sinking suspicion that he has been abandoned to his own fate.”

Gold is set to be directed by Anthony Hayes (Animal Kingdom) who will also co-star. The film is set to begin shooting in Australia this month.
