Ryan Murphy Shares Picture of the Official Cast of Netflix’s ‘The Prom’

Ryan Murphy, the director of  Netflix’s The Prom recently shared a picture of the official cast! There are a few additions and changes since the last time we reported the cast in June 2019.

Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, and Keegan-Michael Key will still be playing Dee Dee Allen, Barry Glickman, Angie Dickinson, Trent Oliver, and principal Mr. Hawkins, respectively. In addition, Ariana DeBose will be playing Alyssa Greene; Kerry Washington will be playing her mother, Mrs. Greene; Kevin Chamberlin will be the Broadway stars’ publicist, Sheldon Saperstein; and Jo Ellen Pellman will be playing Emma Nolan. The group finished shooting during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though we do not know the exact date The Prom will be released on Netflix, nor if it will still be released in theaters, Murphy hinted in his Instagram post that “Christmas is right around the corner…”
