The long and winding saga of the release of The New Mutants entered a new chapter today, with IMAX and 20th Century Studios announcing the film would be released in IMAX on August 28, the same day the film is set to be released in theaters. There has been speculation on whether The New Mutants would remain on the release schedule due to parent studio Disney moving fellow tentpole Mulan to Disney+, but the release date seems solid for now as the ad campaign for the film heats up.

IMAX also released an exclusive poster for the film featuring all the main characters. They also stated tickets would be on sale “soon,” so keep an eye out for a date announcement shortly. The New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga.
