Rebel Rose is the first book in the new Queen’s Council series that will have readers racing to the bookstores (or digital downloads)! Written by Emma Theriault, Rebel Rose reimagines Belle, of Beauty and the Beast, after she’s broken the curse, which is right at the beginning of the French Revolution. Will Belle become the leader her kingdom needs through one of the most prolific revolutions in history?

Happily ever after is the beginning of Belle’s story as she faces the responsibility of becoming queen and balances duty, love, and sacrifice in her new role while facing dark political intrigue and just a bit of magic. In 1789, France is on the brink of revolution. Belle breaks the Enchantress’s curse, restores the Beast to his human form while also bringing life back to the castle in the province of Aveyon. However in Paris, the fires of change burn bright, and it’s only a matter of time before that far off rebellion reaches Aveyon.

Belle once dreamed of escaping her provincial home for a life of adventure. But now she finds herself living in a palace, torn between her past as a commoner and her future as royalty. While Belle grapples with her new position in life, there are those who will do anything to keep her from power. When she stumbles upon a magical mirror with a deadly warning, Belle wants only to ignore the mysterious voice telling her to accept the crown she never desired. All is not well in Aveyon where violent groups of the revolution could already be hiding within her own castle walls, and doing nothing might endanger everything she holds dear. With the fate of her country, her love, and her life at stake, Belle must decide if she is ready to embrace her own strength–and the magic that ties her to so many female rulers before her–to become the queen she is meant to be.

The cover is a stunning design incorporating the famous Beauty and the Beast rose as a beautiful, gold flower front and center. However, the darker storyline of Rebel Rose is seen in the murky black background and the twisting, thorn-filled vines just behind the golden rose. We can’t wait to dive into this new reimagining of Belle, Aveyon, and the fate that awaits beyond her happily ever after. Rebel Rose will be available everywhere November 10!
