Chris Evans Headed to SXSW for A Starting Point
Actor Chris Evans has started 2020 out with a new role — website co-founder. Evans is one of the two masterminds behind a new political website A Starting Point, which he’s partnered with Puncture co-star Mark Kassen to create, set to launch on March 15.
The goal of the site is to be “a new civics engagement project aimed at helping to demystify politics while bringing our elected leaders closer to the communities they represent.” Evans and Kassen have been around Washington, DC interviewing elected officials, collecting 60-second responses to pressing matters ranging from LGBTQ issues, gun control, environmental issues, and education. The videos will be available for prospective voters to find in one easy place, removing the middle man and chances of sensationalism or embellishment.
SXSW is being held this year in Austin, Texas Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 22, and Evans and Kassen, along with their technology entrepreneur Joe Kiani and exectutive producer Tamron Hall, will be in attendance to speak on their new project.
A Starting Point: Connecting Politicians to the People they Serve will be held March 14 from 2-3 p.m. at the Hilton Austin Downtown Salon H.
