Kiernan Shipka to Star in Prime Video’s ‘Red One’ Alongside Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans
The 2023 holidays are about to get a bit more red. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka has been tapped to star in the upcoming Prime Video holiday event film Red One, opposite Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans.
According to an exclusive from Deadline, Shipka’s role as well as the plot of the movie are being kept under wraps. However, it is being billed “as a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.”
Johnson was the first one announced to star in Red One in summer 2021, with Evans following suit earlier this year. Like Shipka, the actors’ roles are being kept secret, but it’s possible exact details will be released at a later date.
Shipka starred as the titular teen witch Sabrina Spellman on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for four seasons and even reprised that role in two episodes of Riverdale‘s sixth season. She is also known for her role as Sally Draper in Mad Men. Upcoming, she can be seen in Wildflower and The White House Plumbers coming out later this year, with four other movies in production or development aside from Red One.
No premiere date has been announced yet for Red One, but it will premiere on Prime Video in time for the 2023 holiday season. Stay tuned to Nerds and Beyond for more news!
