Chris Hemsworth, best known for his electrifying role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has confirmed via an Instagram post that filming will begin for the next installment in the franchise, Thor: Love and Thunder.

Along with Hemsworth, Thor: Love and Thunder will see the return of Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster). Christian Bale also joins the cast in the lead villain role of Gorr the God Butcher. Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) and Chris Pratt (Star Lord) are also reportedly set to appear in the film. Taika Waititi returns to write and direct.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
