Interview: Coby Bell Talks ‘Walker’, Captain James, Working with Jared Padalecki & More [EXCLUSIVE]

Coby Bell is a familiar face to so many. Whether you know him from Burn Notice, Third Watch, or his latest gig as the Texas Rangers’ Captain on The CW’s Walker, you know what an incredible actor he is.

We got a chance to talk to Bell about his role on Walker, his character’s future after the latest episode, and working with Jared Padalecki.

Editors note: this interview was edited for clarity.

Nerds and Beyond: In [last night’s episode], we get to see a bit more of Larry’s background, like a bit of the story with his ex-wife. How did you like sort of peeling back those layers of him as a storyline?

Coby Bell: I loved it. I loved it. I didn’t know where the writers were going to go with his relationship with an ex-wife. And I didn’t know who was going to play my ex-wife and everything just worked out so nicely. Kearran Giovanni did such a great job. And I liked how the writers.. sort of left it open and they’re kind … showing that there’s still some love there. You kind of immediately understood what their relationship was like. They kind of like, talk smack back and forth to each other in a sort of a playful, loving way. And that’s all still there. All the way to where, you know to … talking about why they broke up in the first place and there was miscommunication there. I just love … I love leaving that open to see where that could go with them maybe starting to date again, or just being in each other’s lives again.

Nerds and Beyond: Do you hope that story continues throughout the season? Or at least further down the line?

Coby: I do. I do. I don’t know about this season. But yeah, I mean, hopefully this season but I think in the future that’s a more interesting story than him just out dating randos. I think the history between Larry and Kelly and Walker and his whole family… their son DJ and Walker’s kids are like cousins and I just think there’s a lot to explore there. A lot of history. And I think it would give the fans something to root for, like … are they going to get back together kind of thing.

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Nerds and Beyond: After the shooting, Larry seems to be evaluating more of his life and his life choices. Do you think the events of the shooting are going to stay with him for a while?

Coby: Absolutely. Yeah, I don’t see how it couldn’t, right? I think anytime something traumatic like that happens … I don’t know if he’s ever been shot before. He probably up to that point thought he was pretty invincible. It’s like he’s Captain and nothing’s gonna happen, you know? And then bam, there it is right on his front door. And I think it’s … he’s been surrounded by violence throughout his whole career and I think when it hit home with him, it really got him thinking, like, this is not the answer. This can’t always be the answer. So, you can you see … the guy that shoots him later on, in the episode, Larry’s begging Cordi not to shoot him. He’s like, you know, everyone just put your guns down. I think he’s not just talking to the two of them. I think he’s just sick of it all. He’s like talking to everyone. Put your damn guns down, stop. You know that there are other ways to solve problems.

Nerds and Beyond: Yes, and I think Larry touches on that too in the episode with the conversation about how he wants to be different and not just keep resorting to violence.

Coby: Yeah. I mean, I think he understands that the nature of law enforcement, and that officers are put in situations where they do have to pull the trigger. There are those legit situations, but there’s also times where they just, you know, shoot first and ask questions later, and he just wants to … he wants that to change desperately. I just … I think he would rather change the life of a criminal than end the life of a criminal.

Nerds and Beyond: So there seems to be a lack of trust in the beginning of the episode with Larry and Cordell, as Cordell becomes the interim captain, with Cordell later saying he knows he wasn’t the first choice. How do you think that relationship is going to continue to grow between them and what’s your favorite thing about their relationship?

Coby: There’s so much I love about their relationship and just working with Jared. I think Larry knows Cordell so well. And I think he knew him from when he was first a Ranger. And I think he kind of still has that in his mind, of you know, this is who Cordell is. Cordell is changing, and he’s having to prove that to Larry. But … Larry also knows like, look, this is the guy with the short fuse, and the loose cannon, and … my only choice to be the captain, but he wouldn’t be my first choice. And I think Cordell surprises him in the job that he does. And he surprises him in the fact that Cordell can admit [to] himself like, ‘Yeah, I know. I did my best, I did a good job, but this isn’t me. This isn’t what I want to do. You know, I can do my part. My part doesn’t necessarily have to be being in charge. But I can be a part of the change you’re trying to create.’ There’s just so many layers to Cordell And Larry’s relationship. I just I love all the scenes in between me and Jared are always so much fun. And we just have fun working together. He’s just such a good dude and I sort of have an admiration for the way that he not only approaches being an executive producer on the show, but also his approach to the character. You know, he kind of has like, [a] James Garner thing going on? Like, he’s the hero, he’s a badass, he’s all that, but also he allows himself to be the butt of the joke, and he allows himself to sort of be like the cornball that makes the dad jokes and I think it’s just a really, really cool approach to the character.

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Nerds and Beyond: I know you touched on it a little bit, how Cordell and Larry have known each other for forever. I know a lot of people have wanted to see those kind of flashbacks, so is that something that maybe you’d like to explore more of too?

Coby: Absolutely, yeah. Last season, we had that one episode where they kind of went off on a case together. There hasn’t been too many actual flashbacks other than like the night of Emily’s death. But yeah, I think that would be a really cool place to go to see … what they were like. Sort of five years ago, six years ago. [It would] actually [be] really cool. Because you know, right now, I think the audience first got to know Larry as the boss. He’s the boss. And then now we’re slowly getting to know him as a human being. And seeing his faults and his sense of humor … his personality. I think going back to before he was the boss … I think we’d be able to get a better picture of who they were as partners and buddies.

Nerds and Beyond: So we saw a bit of turmoil within Larry after Micki’s departure. And in this episode, it kind of touched on it a little bit too, but how do you think her leaving affected him? Do you think he blames himself a little bit for letting her go undercover which ultimately led to her leaving?

Coby: Yeah, I think there is some blame there. But you know, he can’t predict the future and he can only do what he thinks is right. But yeah, I definitely think he had a lot of hope from Micki. He thought that she had what it takes to sort of go all the way and maybe you know, take over for him. I think everybody has mixed feelings about her leaving and what happened. And you know… there was a line, that was left [out of] that last scene with Micki, Captain James, and Walker. After Micki walks out, there was a line that they left out, which I think is very good that they left it out. I think it played much better just with James and Walker just standing there in silence. But there was a line where Walker said, ‘Well, what do we do now?’ And James said something like, ‘Well, the phone’s gonna ring tomorrow, and we’re gonna answer. We’re pick up the phone and we’re gonna keep doing our jobs.’ So you got to move on. You’ve got to keep going. But the hurt and the pain is still there, for sure. On both levels. Also, all the cast … we’re missing Lindsey as well.

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Nerds and Beyond: Lastly, what can fans look forward to with Larry’s storyline as the rest of the season progresses?

Coby: I don’t know. I don’t know where it’s going. I never really asked. I always kind of like to let it unfold. Just like life does, you know? You don’t exactly know what’s going to happen. So that’s kind of where I am with that. I mean, if there’s room in the story this season, I would love to see a couple more scenes with Larry and Kelly, his ex-wife. Just to kind of build on that last scene between them, because I felt like it was leading somewhere. But like just, you know, this whole traumatic experience sort of rekindled something, so let’s see what happens.

Walker airs Thursday nights at 8/7c on The CW.

‘FreakAngels’ Voice Cast and Sneak Preview Released

0

Crunchyroll announced today the voice cast for its upcoming original series FreakAngels, which is based on the popular post-apocalyptic graphic novel series of the same name.

Below is the list of the voice cast along with a description of the character they will be voicing.

  • KK voiced by Marsha Thomason. A swaggering gearhead, the sort of cool mechanic girl who’ll drink all your beer, set light to your house and drive off on your motorbike. KK is the spiky, violent big sister of the FreakAngels.
  • Arkady voiced by Julie Nathanson. Eccentric, can seem like a playful child. Arkady is the most powerful person in the world, but she’s dizzy and fragile. In private, she’s exploring her powers. A gentle woman with a storm inside her.
  • Jack voiced by Tru Valentino. A loner and a sailor who prefers to work with his hands, Jack keeps busy using his boat to scavenge flooded London for supplies and fend off raiders. He’s the classic model of stoic manhood.
  • Sirkka voiced by Nazneen Contractor. She’s a sincere pacifist, but her high morals and polyamorous lifestyle can sometimes cause friction with the other FreakAngels, especially Jack.
  • Connor voiced by Christian Lees. The damaged soul. Connor is up in his own head. He thinks too much. He’s warm and emotional, with thin skin. He’s going to have to pull himself together to pull the group together in the face of the threats to come.
  • Mark voiced by Daniel Gillies. Mark is the FreakAngel who was exiled. He used his powers to control people, and they threw him out. Since then, he’s been roaming Britain, getting stronger, laying plans.
  • Luke voiced by Chris Geere. A rogue intellectual with a university poshness. He’s broken, toxic, impossibly charming until you see his damage up close.
  • Kat voiced by Victoria Atkin. Self-appointed “cop” of Whitechapel. She is quite mad, but devoted to everyone’s safety. Solitary but intimidating.
  • Miki voiced by Mallory Low. The medic. Her wit is razor sharp. Good at healing people, not so good at talking to them.
  • Caz voiced by Anniwaa Buachie. An urban engineer. She will build her way to a better future. She is the most mature and self-aware member of the group.
  • Karl voiced by Darren Jacobs. Telepathy is strong with Karl; he isolates in his garden for mental quiet. Kirk is the only one he can stand. Prefers to tend to his garden, alone.
  • Kirk voiced by Tru Valentino. Totally devoted to Karl, pissed off with everything else. He misses the old world, and is slow to trust anyone while very quick to anger.
  • Alice voiced by Della Saba. Resourceful and takes no shit. She was barely a teen when “the world ended,” and grew up with no support and no pity.
Crunchyroll

FreakAngels takes place in a world that “ended” in a single, apocalyptic event that trapped Great Britain behind a mysterious dome of purple energy. London’s last neighborhood, Whitechapel, has persevered thanks to the protection of the “FreakAngels”, a small group of psychically-powered twenty-three-year-olds. This fragile peace becomes threatened when an exiled friend returns, exposing past conspiracies and new conflicts within their fractured, makeshift family.

The full season of FreakAngels will premiere on Crunchyroll on on January 27. The series will have subtitles available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, and Arabic. Check out the clip below to catch a glimpse into this unique world.

Fans of the 1987 film will easily recognize the name of Jackson’s character, Dan Gallagher. After an affair with Caplan’s Alex, Dan becomes the object of a major and unhealthy obsession. This series will be a reimagining of the original psychosexual thriller. It will be interesting to see the new take on the popular 80s movie that has become a cultural touchstone.

Jackson is a fantastic addition to the cast with his history of bringing complicated and dynamic characters to the screen. Currently Jackson is starring as Dr. Death in the limited series of the same name alongside Christian Slater. The role landed him a Critic’s Choice Award nomination for the Best Actor in a Limited Series, or Made for Movie category. Jackson has worked hard making a name for himself in the industry since his breakout role as Pacey in the beloved Dawson’s Creek series. Recently he has worked with the incredible Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, just to name a few.

Nicole Clemens, President of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series, had this to say about Jackson and Caplan, “Joshua is an incredible talent who creates beautifully complicated characters on both the screen and stage. He and Lizzy are perfectly matched to tell a nuanced and modern narrative about the complexities of the human psyche. We’re thrilled to partner with them to bring this provocative and captivating story to a new generation.”

Fatal Attraction will no doubt be a modern take on some of the timeless themes like marriage, infidelity, personality disorders, coercive control, and strong women. Serving as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series is Alexandra Cunningham. Alongside her will be executive producer Kevin J. Hynes, and joining as executive producers are Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.

With no premiere date as of yet, make sure to follow Nerds & Beyond to stay up to date.

‘Walker’ Recap: Season 2, Episode 8 “Two Points for Honesty”

0

Walker kicks off after a nail-biting cliffhanger, with our beloved Captain James getting shot outside of Trey’s house. Let’s dive into what happened in this episode!

Trey to the Rescue

Thanks to the quick thinking of Trey who put himself in harm’s way, he runs over to Larry (Captain James) against his wishes. Trey picks up his gun and fires at the suspect, scaring him off. Trey then tends to Larry before help arrives. Another Trooper rushes Trey and Larry to the hospital, who is clearly not looking well and loses consciousness right before they make it to the hospital. Trey ends up getting Larry’s bloody badge.

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Walker Arrives

During a game night, Stella gets a call from DJ, Larry’s son, and Cordell gets notifications of missed calls from the hospital and Trey where he learns the news. The family rushes over to the hospital, including Bonham and Liam.

Cordell sees Trey and gets the update from him, and the Trooper updates on the suspect. The hospital staff tells them that Larry should be ok. Trey hands Cordell the badge from Captain James.

Cordell Appointed as Captain

When Larry awakes, Cordell is by his side. They talk about the suspect and if he’s connected to Serano, and Cordell reassures him that they’ll find someone and Larry makes Cordell running point on the investigation and makes him interim Captain.

Larry’s Family

DJ arrives at the hospital to see his Dad, and we get to meet for the first time Kelly, Larry’s ex-wife. Larry and Kelly talk later when they’re alone, and they share stories about their past relationship. As they’re talking, Kelly reminds Larry to start thinking about the future.

The Investigation

Cordell continues to update Larry on the suspect, but they’re coming up empty-handed with no leads. Cordell goes to visit Stan in prison to interrogate him about Serano’s involvement in the shooting. Stan tells Cordell he doesn’t think Serano is involved, and it would be stupid of Serano to do so considering he could be let go on all charges due to Liam’s fake police report.

Cordell arrives back at the hospital, and Larry doesn’t look great. Cordell tells him about going to see Stan, and Larry isn’t happy. This causes Larry’s oxygen to drop and doctors to rush in. Larry’s later diagnosed with Sepsis, so they tell the Walkers and the family that the next 24 hours are crucial and he needs to remain stress-free. Liam asks to help Cordell, and Cordell tells him he’s not an ADA anymore and the best thing he can do is to be there for Kelly and DJ.

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Walker’s Worries

As Cordell takes a moment to himself as Larry’s not doing well, Geri arrives at the hospital. The two talk and Geri gives Cordell the confidence he needs to be the interim Captain.

Back at the Ranger station, Cordell gathers everyone and gives a speech about Larry and doing everything they can to get justice, but doing so morally. Liam appears right around the corner and listens to the speech. At the end, Liam makes a phone call asking for a visitor pass.

Liam Helps Out

Liam calls Cordell and says he still has friends and pulled a few favors, finding out that a suspect, Cole, that Larry arrested a while ago was recently released, was admitted into the hospital a few hours after Larry.

The Confrontation

Cordell rushes to the hospital and finds Cole in Larry’s room with a gun. Cordell draws his gun, but Larry tells him to stand down. Cordell lowers his gun, and Larry tries to talk Cole down. Cole tells them that Larry lied to him during his arrest and everything wasn’t fine. Larry says he tried to ask for leniency for Cole but it was out of his hands. Cole states that someone tried to jump him in prison after being in there for three months, and he ended up getting 15 years for manslaughter. Larry states he’s sorry for what happened and it made him realize then he didn’t want to do things that way, and in order to do that, he had to be the one calling the shots and to try and do what’s right. Cole raises the gun again and Walker draws his gun again. Larry tells Cordell he made him a promise and to put the gun down.

As this is happening, a tactical team is coming down the hallway, and Cole is shot, the tactical team taking him out as Larry is talking to him. Cordell bends down to check on Cole and Larry asks the tactical officer why he shot him, to which the officer responds, “Just doing my job.”

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Larry, Kelly, and DJ

DJ gets ready to leave for home and Larry and DJ agree to go on a trip to Idaho. Larry walks Kelly out to the elevator as she leaves, and the two talk. During this, we find out that Larry had hoped Micki would be able to take over down the line. Larry says now he’s unsure of who would step up. Kelly says that her worst fear would be that one night he wouldn’t come home, and it came true because he was so focused on protecting them that he didn’t let people in. Kelly says that he can finally hear her now and that counts for a lot. Things are left open-ended as she says for him to call more often.

The Key

Trey, Bonham, Stella, and Augie are told Larry is doing well and will be discharged soon. Bonham talks to Trey and apologizes for letting the cat out of the bag about Micki, and Trey says there’s no need to. Bonham tells Trey that there’s been a lot of ups and downs and bad things are going to happen and that it brings people together. Bonham hands Trey a key to the ranch and says he’ll always have a place to land, a home, if he needs it.

The Aftermath

Cordell and Larry talk after everything went down, and Larry says he has to make sure not only to lead well but who is receiving the orders is the right choice. Cordell starts to apologize, but Larry says he made the right call and listened to him over protocol. Larry says there are ways to stop violence without bringing more violence and more death.

Cordell says he’s not the same ranger a year ago, even a day ago, but that it taught him that he realized Captain is not for him. He wants to be the one who answers the calls, not the one calling the shots. They talk about losing Micki, and how they need to start recruiting some more people, and they’ll do it together.

Rebecca Brenneman/The CW

Liam’s Visit

We find out that Liam asking for a visitor pass was him asking to see Stan, as Liam arrives at the prison. Stan has been writing Liam but never heard back. Stan tells Liam he was right about the Davidsons, and Stan says he represented the Walkers after the fire. He tells Liam to go to his house and look in the false bottom of a desk and he’ll find something there, but to be careful because he might not like what he sees.

Walker airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. You can keep up with all of our Walker coverage, here.

‘Batwoman’ Recap: Season 3, Episode 9 “Meet Your Maker”

This week on Batwoman, OG Poison Ivy struggles to regain her strength. So, she opts for a new method. Ryan, Luke, and Sophie head out to find her, and Jada and an old friend seek out Renee. Read on to find out what happens in “Meet Your Maker.”

Seeking Strength

Two fishermen breaking the park’s catch and release policy are snatched up by vines from the water. Pamela emerges, weak, when Renee finds her. Sunlight also fails to rejuvenate Pam. Renee says Pam just needs time. Pam reminds her this is happening because of Renee, who knows who can help get Pam’s strength back. A bit later, Renee sets up an area for Pam to focus on nature and draw Mary to her.

Meanwhile, Ryan visits her mother’s grave while Luke works through his own issues via exercise at the new HQ. When Ryan returns, she gives Sophie the cold shoulder and tells Luke about an attack at the park. It turns out there were two other attacks as well. Luke shows Ryan darts he made that will subdue Pam until they can recreate the desiccation serum. Sophie does some quick research and finds the attacks all happened in the national park.

A Day at the Park

Ryan, Luke, and Sophie head to the park. During the drive, Sophie tries apologizing again as Ryan explains why she’s upset. Things get heated, and Luke gets Sophie’s attention just in time to stop her from hitting someone. Luke and Ryan go help the man, but vines appear and wrap around the car. Sophie escapes just in tim,e and the group runs. The vines, though, wrap around the man before impaling him. They also take the dart gun, and Sophie, Ryan, and Luke seek cover in a cabin.

Pam returns to Renee and wants to know how Batwoman found her. Renee wants to know what happened, and Pam tells her they’re not hurt. Renee says she wants to start over, and Pam concedes before using her pheromone control to keep Renee at the tent. Pam is going to kill Batwoman.

In the cabin, Luke (angrily) boards up the door. He thinks that everything is his fault and that he’s no superhero. Ryan and Sophie use each other’s shortcomings to remind Luke that failure is part of the deal. They still need him. Sophie tells them what supplies she found in the cabin, and Luke thinks he can make something to stop Pam.

Jada Enlists Help

Jada Jet returns this episode seeking Diggle’s help. She fills him in about Marquis and offers him a security job. He declines but suggests Jada go back to the original source of Marquis’ problem: the joy buzzer. Jada doesn’t know where it is, but Diggle has an idea that Renee Montoya does. So, they break into her office and search. As they do, Diggle wonders how Ryan found Jada. Jada isn’t sure and explains that she doesn’t treat Ryan like her daughter for Ryan’s protection. Jada searches through a couple more drawers and finds the buzzer.

Back to the Source

Alice reads the news story about OG Poison Ivy as she waits for Mary, who returns with coffee and a vacation suggestion. Just before they leave, Mary hears a loud and painful ringing noise. On the road, Mary hears the ringing again and wants to turn back. Alice won’t stop the car, so Mary makes her. Mary gets out and begins walking back, much to Alice’s chagrin. Alice shows Mary the news and thinks she should ignore the ringing; it’s the OG luring Mary. However, Mary wants to go, and Alice eventually caves.

When they arrive at the park, Alice wants to use brute force, which Mary opposes. In a burst of emotion, Alice reveals she doesn’t want Mary to get hurt. Mary understands why, and Alice … still wants to use brute force. So, Mary uses the pheromone control to keep Alice in the car and asleep. Mary heads out, and Renee finds her and shoots her with one of the darts Luke made.

Feeling Salty

Sophie again wants to know what Ryan’s problem is with her. Ryan mentions how it starts with Sophie thinking Ryan was a criminal. This frustrates Sophie, as she’s been trying but feels like Ryan hasn’t. As they argue, a vine creeps down the wall. Sophie asks Ryan what she wants, and before either woman can say much else, the vine grabs Sophie and pins her to the wall. Luke manages to release her with a salt and vinegar spray he made. They can’t make more, though, as they’re out of salt. Sophie remembers some she saw in the truck outside, and Ryan volunteers to go grab it.

Batwoman quietly creeps outside and makes it to the truck. She can’t reach the salt, so she climbs into the truck bed to grab it. In another area of the park, a father and son find Mary passed out. But she wakes up too late as vines take the dad away. The kid soon finds Batwoman and screams for help. Cue the return of the vines. Batwoman gets into the truck and tells Sophie to blow it up. Luke runs out and grabs the kid as a well-aimed shot from Sophie causes the truck to explode.

Cabin Canon in the Woods

While Luke tends to the kid, Sophie looks for Batwoman, whom she finds physically okay. She’s upset Ryan put her in that position and that Ryan knew what could’ve happened. Ryan explains her exhaustion, relaying every major thing that’s happened thus far. In response, Sophie kisses Ryan into stunned silence before walking away. And Ryan seems pretty okay about it (and we are, too).

Luke visits his dad’s grave. He shares his reservations about being Batwing but that maybe everything bad that’s happened was meant to; Luke is ready to do his own thing without worrying what his father might have thought. Soon, Diggle arrives, and we learn he turned to Luke to help open a trans-matter cube. He couldn’t and asks how Diggle opened it last time. When Diggle tells him it just opened, Luke thinks maybe it could happen again.

A Tangle of Ivy

Alice wakes up and goes to find Mary. Along the way, she finds the kid’s dad dead in a tree. Renee also searches for Pam. When she does, she reveals that Pam’s pheromone control failed because of a tolerance she was able to create. Renee thinks their relationship is toxic, but Pam thinks Renee doesn’t love her. While they talk, Mary arrives, and Pam gives Renee the option to help or leave. Renee leaves. When she’s gone, Mary and Pam join hands, and Pam siphons just enough energy from Mary to regain her strength.

Batwoman airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on The CW, available the next day on The CW app and cwtv.com. Find our previous recaps and the rest of our coverage here.

The Recording Academy has announced a new date and location for the Grammy Awards.

Originally scheduled for January 31, 2022, the show was postponed due to an increase COVID-19 cases and the fast spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant. It has now been pushed back to April 3, 2022.

The prestigious award show was initially supposed to take place in Downtown Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as the Staples Center). Along with rescheduling the date, the location of the ceremony has also been forced to change. The event will now be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

“We are excited to take the Grammys to Las Vegas for the very first time, and to put on a world class show,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in the organization’s message to members.

“From the moment we announced the postponement of the original show date, we have been inundated with heartfelt messages of support and solidarity from the artist community. We are humbled by their generosity and grateful for their unwavering commitment to the Grammy Awards and the Academy’s mission.”

The announcement was quickly followed by confirmation that comedian Trevor Noah is still on board to host the awards. Noah also hosted last year’s event, which was similarly postponed. He proved to be a popular choice amongst both fans and critics, and he confirmed in December 2021 that he has been invited back.

This year, the Grammy’s will feature even more nominees than usual. Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist will all have 10 nominees instead of the usual eight.

Singer and jazz pianist Jon Batiste leads the pack this year with 11 nominations, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best R&B Album.

Other big nominees include Doja Cat, H.E.R., Justin Bieber, all with eight nominations, as well as Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo who each received seven.

The newly rescheduled ceremony on April 3, 2022, will be broadcast live as well as streamed on Paramount+.
