Fans of the 1987 film will easily recognize the name of Jackson’s character, Dan Gallagher. After an affair with Caplan’s Alex, Dan becomes the object of a major and unhealthy obsession. This series will be a reimagining of the original psychosexual thriller. It will be interesting to see the new take on the popular 80s movie that has become a cultural touchstone.

Jackson is a fantastic addition to the cast with his history of bringing complicated and dynamic characters to the screen. Currently Jackson is starring as Dr. Death in the limited series of the same name alongside Christian Slater. The role landed him a Critic’s Choice Award nomination for the Best Actor in a Limited Series, or Made for Movie category. Jackson has worked hard making a name for himself in the industry since his breakout role as Pacey in the beloved Dawson’s Creek series. Recently he has worked with the incredible Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, just to name a few.

Nicole Clemens, President of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series, had this to say about Jackson and Caplan, “Joshua is an incredible talent who creates beautifully complicated characters on both the screen and stage. He and Lizzy are perfectly matched to tell a nuanced and modern narrative about the complexities of the human psyche. We’re thrilled to partner with them to bring this provocative and captivating story to a new generation.”

Fatal Attraction will no doubt be a modern take on some of the timeless themes like marriage, infidelity, personality disorders, coercive control, and strong women. Serving as writer, showrunner and executive producer on the series is Alexandra Cunningham. Alongside her will be executive producer Kevin J. Hynes, and joining as executive producers are Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.
