‘Iron Gwazi’ Rollercoaster To Open at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay This March
The wait is finally over! The highly anticipated hybrid coaster, Iron Gwazi, will open at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on March 11, 2022.
Busch Gardens first revealed the plans for the new coaster back in 2019, hoping the coaster would be open in 2020, but after some delay’s Iron Gwazi is ready to welcome thrill seekers willing to take it on.
The new coaster will be an iron-wood hybrid coaster, celebrating the older version of the ride with restored elements from the beloved ride Gwazi.
Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction, Iron Gwazi will be Busch Gardens’ tenth coaster and the fastest and steepest hybrid coaster in the world, cementing the theme park’s place as a thrill-seeker’s destination. Riders will plunge from a 206 foot-tall peak into a 91-degree drop and reach top speeds of 76 miles per hour. There will also be three inversions on this crocodile-inspired thrill ride.
That’s not all! In addition to Iron Gwazi, two new slides will debut at Adventure Island in 2022. Rapids Racer and Wahoo Remix, coming to the park this spring.
If you want to get a head start on the crowds before Iron Gwazi officially opens on March 11, 2022, Pass Members will have exclusive access to ride on select dates starting on February 11, 2022.
