Deadline has reported that 9-1-1 alum Anirudh Pisharody has joined the cast of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever. Pisharody joins the upcoming third season in a recurring role. He will play Des, an Indian-American teen who matches Devi’s intelligence. However, Des attends an elite private school.

Never Have I Ever focuses on Devi Vishwakumar, a first generation Indian-American high schooler. Season 1 sees Devi return to school after the sudden death of her father. With the help of her best friends, she reacclimatizes to school. And Devi also sets out to find a boyfriend. By season 2, it seems Devi made a choice. However, she finds herself choosing between Ben and Paxton. Season 2 also sees Devi’s grief manifest more intensely.

Plot details for season 3 are unknown at this time. Based on season 2’s ending, viewers can expect to see Devi adjust to life with her person of choice as the other may potentially create more friction. There’s currently no release date for season 3, but filming is currently underway.

Never Have I Ever also features Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, Darren Barnet, Poorna Jagannathan, Jaren Lewison, and Richa Moorjani. Season 2 introduced new characters played by Megan Suri and Tyler Alvarez.
