Prime Video announced that its hit series, The Wheel of Time will be returning to the streaming service on September 1. Based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy series of the same name, the series follows Rand al’Thor as he discovers he is the reincarnation of The Dragon Reborn, a dangerous figure who is destined to save the world or destroy it. A group of sorceresses take Rand under their tutelage to try and protect him from The Dark One, but they are soon forced to deal with Rand’s growing power and increased madness. The end of season 1 saw Rand defeating The Dark One, but season 2 brings new challenges with Rand having to navigate new and old threats while trying to find new allies who will help him continue to fight the darkness that lives within him.

The Wheel of Time stars Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, with Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, Marcus Rutherford, Dónal Finn, and Ceara Coveney also starring. The series was adapted for television by executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins with Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of iwot productions, Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Mike Weber, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe, Justine Juel Gillmer, Sanaa Hamri, and Amanda Kate Shuman serving as executive producers. Rosamund Pike also serves as co-executive producer, with Harriet McDougal, Brandon Sanderson, and Lauren Selig serving as consulting producers.
