The grim-grinning ghosts have come out to socialize in this new trailer for Haunted Mansion, based on the famous Disney Parks attraction of the same name. Embracing the dark but funny vibe of the ride, the movie looks like it will take viewers on an unforgettable and fun adventure!

While Haunted Mansion is technically a remake, this new take on the classic attraction looks fresh, new, and accurately spooky. The teaser trailer begins with Rosario Dawson’s Gabbie and her son moving into their new home. Soon they find that they are not the only ones occupying the house. Fans of the Disney ride will recognize some familiar ghosts that make surprise appearances. The Hatbox Ghost, played by Jared Leto, and the fabulous Madame Leota, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, are a few of the most notable.

Gabbie quickly realizes she is overwhelmed with all the spirits and calls for help. This assistance comes in the form of an incredible cast of characters. It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but a priest, a professor, and a paranormal investigator come to the aid of the family, for the right price, of course. Bringing these colorful characters to life are Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, LaKeith Stanfield, and Tiffany Haddish. Also making some awesome cameos are Winona Ryder and Dan Levy, among others.

This trailer shows that director Justin Simien, a self-confessed nerd, has put in a lot of thought, and many Easter eggs fans will enjoy. Many remakes are coming from Disney lately, but Haunted Mansion stands out from the rest. With a creepy, dark, and adventurous feeling, I know I am waiting in anticipation to watch.

Prepare yourselves, foolish mortals; Haunted Mansion will be heading to theaters on July 28.
