Following the recent release of his debut solo track, “No Horse To Ride,” Yellowstone actor Luke Grimes has a full country music album on the way. During Grimes’ appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, he provided some additional details about the forthcoming record.
He shared with Fallon that he’s set to start recording the album next month, and it should be out at the “end of March-ish.” While the exact date still appears to be up in the air, fans can rest assured that the wait for more music from Grimes won’t be very long at all.
“No Horse To Ride” was featured in the midseason finale of Yellowstone this past weekend, Taylor Sheridan’s hit drama series that chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Grimes portrays John’s son, former Navy SEAL Kayce Dutton. Yellowstone will pick back up with the second half of its fifth season this summer.
Grimes is no stranger to music — it was a childhood passion for him before acting, at which time he played music in church and then eventually went on to play in bands when he lived in Los Angeles (though his Hollywood career eventually took precedence, as he would go on to appear in films like American Sniper and The Magnificent Seven).
Universal Music Group Nashville, in association with Range Music, announced Grimes’ record deal back in December. Grimes is working with Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Dave Cobb on his album for Range Music/Mercury Nashville.
Grimes is currently slated to perform at two music festivals this year — Stagecoach in April and Under the Big Sky in July.
