Tonight marked the midseason finale for season 5 of Paramount’s hit drama series, Yellowstone.

And while it’s exciting that this will be the show’s longest season yet, clocking in at 14 episodes versus the usual 10, audiences will unfortunately have to wait until this summer to see what happens next following the eighth episode, “A Knife and No Coin.”

The network has yet to confirm an exact return date for the series.

Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect — the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders — an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.

The show also stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Gil Birmingham, and more.

In case you missed it, Grimes’ debut country song, “No Horse To Ride,” was featured in tonight’s episode.

Yellowstone is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Executive producers include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari and Stephen Kay.

In the meantime, fans can stay busy with the Yellowstone prequels now available on Paramount+ — the 10-episode miniseries 1883, and the Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren-led 1923, the third episode of which premiered today.
