During Netflix’s annual TUDUM event, fans of the Vikings spin-off, Vikings: Valhalla, got a sneak peek at season 2!

Set to release early next year, the first season chronicled the adventures of some of the most prolific Vikings that ever lived. Sam Corlett leads as Leif Eriksson, Frida Gustavsson as Freydis Eriksdotter and Leo Suter as Prince Harald Sigurdsson. As tensions rise between the Vikings and the English, the English vacate their agreement to peace, and bloodshed ensues. The Vikings refuse to agree to follow the new Christian belief system, which causes discourse among their own groups.

The cliffhanger at the end of the season saw the Vikings going to war with the Berserkers, led by Jarl Kåre and Olaf Haraldsson. While Kåre’s group plans to attack by land, Olaf plans an attack by sea to take control of the Kattegat stronghold. Harald warns Leif of this, who recognizes it’s a diversion to break up their forces. Once they realize this, bloodshed and betrayal ensue all over the town. Freydis weakens Kåre long enough to kill him, and she makes her way to Harald, who is severely injured, getting them both to safety. The final moments of the finale show a furious Leif who has just watched his love, Liv, die in his arms from the attacks. He’s out for revenge, and nobody can stop him.

In the clip, Leif, Freydis, and Harald make a desperate last stand against Olaf and his warriors. It also reveals the season will, in fact, premiere in 2023. Check it out below.
