Emotional Entanglement

After the events at the end of episode 8, Jordan surprises Simone. Simone asks how Jordan was able to enter, and he lets it be known Damon was the one who let him in. Later, Jordan brings up Damon again, which causes Simone to ask Jordan what’s been going on between her and Damon.

She calls it an “emotional entanglement,” and Jordan seemingly understands.

The two go on a date where things get a bit messy. As Simone gets up to use the restroom, Jordan’s phone rings. When Simone comes back, she hears him. Simone then asks about Liv, but Jordan tells her that he was talking to Layla. However, things seem to be good with them.

The Art of Peer Pressure

The CW

Thea reveals to Nate, Keisha, and Simone that she has a date with Kevin, the guy who her grandmother introduced her to. The girls tell her to relax and have fun, but Thea voices her concerns about not knowing what to do when it comes to dating and relationships.

Later at the party, Kevin convinces Thea she needed to get drunk in order to have a good time, so he spikes her drink and then is seen proceeding to an intoxicated Thea to an unknown place to take advantage of her. Before he could complete his mission, Damon steps in to help Thea.

Thea informs Damon she doesn’t want to be alone, and as a true friend, he stays with her.

Taking Charge

The CW

Amara decides it’s time to resign from Bringston when her mugshot is released.

As more of her past is brought to the forefront, Simone doesn’t think her aunt should just walk away from all that she’s built, but Amara insists she’s fine with her decision. They all rally around her and show her a video about how much she means to Bringston and to them individually. Marcus still continues to flirt with Amara, leaving the possibility of a reunion in the air.

The episode ends with Simone explaining to Keisha that she thinks things between her and Jordan might be headed on a different path. Marcus is seen attempting to take his pills for a mood disorder but decides against it and throws them in the trash. Simone and Nate come to Amara with information about who is behind trying to sabotage her. When they show her the photo of someone on campus, Amara knows the person out to get her has a personal beef with her.
