It’s been almost two years since the first teaser trailer for Morbius, an upcoming installment in Sony’s shared universe of Spider-Man characters, released. On November 2 fans of Morbius the Living Vampire received a second trailer release.

Morbius follows the tale of Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist with a rare blood disease who develops a cure that results in him turning into a vampire. Jared Leto will star as Morbius alongside Jared Harris, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. This movie will add to the ever-growing list of Spider-Man villains currently on the big screen rotation, and will feature at least a cameo from Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Adrien Toomes/The Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

If you’re not familiar with Morbius, Sony also released a featurette introducing the living vampire to audiences. The video features plenty of new footage from this upcoming installment, including a better look at Morbius’ powers and the improved CGI for their depictions.

The synopsis for the film reads:

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.

You can find the featurette here to meet Morbius, and check out the trailer below! Morbius comes to theaters January 28, 2022.
