Despite just getting its US premiere less than a week ago, Dune has been nominated for four People’s Choice Awards!

The film, which just received a green light for Part 2, was nominated in the following categories:

  • The Movie of 2021
  • The Drama Movie of 2021
  • Timothée Chalamet for Drama Movie Star of 2021
  • Jason Momoa for Drama Movie Star of 2021

Dune is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s critically acclaimed 1965 sci-fi novel of the same name. While the film was always marketed as a Part One, Legendary and Warner Bros. decided to wait to announce if the film would get a Part 2 until after gauging the audiences response. Clearly, that response was overwhelmingly positive.

Part 1 starred Timothée Chalamet as the gifted hero Paul Atreides alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.

Be sure to check out our review of the film, and if it’s safe to do so, opt for a theater viewing if you haven’t seen it yet!

Voting for the PCA’s is currently underway. Dune can be found in the Movies category here, and to vote for all your 2021 faves you can vote in all four categories here.

The PCA’s will air on E! and NBC on Tuesday, December 7 at 9 p.m. ET. Voting is open until November 17.
