Something new is on its way to the world of Pokémon.
Today’s Pokémon Presents brought with it news of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a new game that will both honor the core gameplay of the previous games we know and love while also adding in new action and RPG elements.
Set in a version of the Sinnoh region quite different from the one seen in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in a long-gone era before Trainers and Leagues were brought into existence. Players will be tasked with catching, surveying, and researching the wild Pokémon living in this harsh environment in order to create and complete the Sinnoh region’s very first Pokédex. Players will also be able to have their ally Pokémon battle wild Pokémon.

You’ll begin your adventure in a familiar way, choosing from a trio of starter Pokémon. However, the particular choices of Pokémon actually come from three different regions and generations of the Pokémon games — Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott. The reigning creature in this game is the Alpha Pokémon Arceus.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be available in early 2022. An exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
