9-1-1: Lone Star‘s sophomore season is shaping up to be an intense one. In a brand new preview just released for the FOX first responder series, the 126 looks to be mourning one of their own, on top of new calls that will be taking over the Texas capital.

The 126 is battling wildfires and even lava in the second season, with Owen even confirming that the fire is on a collision course with the city. As seen in the previous trailer, a member of the station gets hit by a flying lava rock. However in the newest preview, as Paul is comforting Marjan, Owen says one of their own died today. It’s not clear who that person is, though. On the bright side, 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s second season will be welcoming a few new faces to the station. The West Wing alum, Lisa Edelstein, will be playing Gwenyth, Owen’s ex-wife, and T.K.’s mother who comes to Austin to be with T.K. after his accident at the end of the previous season. Suits alum, Gina Torres, will be joining as Paramedic Captain Tommy Vega who decides to re-enter the workforce after her husband’s restaurant goes under due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will also be a crossover with parent series, 9-1-1, which will have the 118 and 126 battling a massive wildfire together, which seems to be previewed in the new clip.

Season 2 of 9-1-1: Lone Star premieres on Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on FOX, following the season 4 premiere of 9-1-1. Season 1 of Lone Star is currently streaming on Hulu and the FOX NOW app.
