New ‘Star Wars: The High Republic’ Novel Coming Summer 2021
The High Republic world is expanding, Star Wars fans! The first book in the second wave of releases from the publishing campaign that features young and adult novels, children’s books, and comics has officially been announced.
The second adult novel, Star Wars: The High Republic: The Rising Storm, is not a direct sequel to The High Republic: Light of the Jedi. However, according to the StarWars.com exclusive reveal, the author of The Rising Storm, Cavan Scott, says the story will add to the first novel’s events.
The Rising Storm sees the Nihil taking their reign of terror to the next level, building on their appearances in Light of the Jedi and beyond. Standing in their way this time are newly elevated Jedi Council member Stellan Gios, along with Padawan Bell Zettifar and an intriguing new character, the saber-for-hire Ty Yorrick, who I’ve had a blast creating.
The Star Wars: The High Republic stories are set in an era when the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order are the most powerful, about 200 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. This period in the Star Wars timeline will not overlap with any of the films or series.
The first wave of stories within The High Republic era is set to be released next month. Star Wars: The High Republic: The Rising Storm arrives on July 6, 2021.
