The much-awaited official trailer for The Acolyte, a live-action Star Wars series featuring Lee Jung-Jae and Amandla Stenberg, has been released by Disney+.
The Acolyte is a story that takes place over a century before Star Wars: Episode 1 — The Phantom Menace , during the final days of the High Republic. The plot revolves around an investigation into a series of shocking crimes, where a respected Jedi Master (Jung-Jae) is pitted against a dangerous warrior from his past, played by Stenberg. As they follow the clues, they find themselves on a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not what it seems.
The trailer gives the audience a first look at Jung-Jae and Stenberg in their starring roles as the two powerhouse forces go ahead in a fight for power that will ultimately change the course of the galaxy forever.
The Acolyte, created by Leslye Headland, is based on George Lucas’ Star Wars who serves as an executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers. The producers are Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow. The series stars Jung-Jae, Stenberg, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
