The first live-action Star Wars television series, The Mandalorian, premiered on Disney+ last year when the streaming service officially opened for business, and the show was met with much fanfare and critical acclaim.

Between the mysterious allure of the formidable bounty hunter Din Djarin, the beloved Child (aka Baby Yoda), an incredible array of additional characters, a killer soundtrack, a team of dedicated Star Wars experts, and the cutting-edge technology and cinematography that brought the series to life, it’s no surprise at all that The Mandalorian received 15 Emmy nominations this year.

Season 1 left off on an ominous note. Though all seemed well when Din and The Child parted ways with Cara Dune and Greef Karga after making a narrow escape (thanks to the help of IG-11), in the final moments we saw Moff Gideon climb out of the wreckage of a crashed TIE fighter wielding the Darksaber. For those unfamiliar with the legendary weapon, it was created by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi Knight. Before Moff Gideon, the last known whereabouts of the Darksaber were when Sabine Wren handed it over to Bo-Katan Kryze (who is slated to appear in season 2). It remains to be seen how it eventually fell into the hands of Moff Gideon in the wake of the Galactic Civil War.

The good news is, we don’t have to speculate as to what’s in store next for The Mandalorian for much longer, because the highly anticipated trailer for season 2 has finally arrived (along with a new poster, as well!) Check out the trailer below.

Wherever I go, he goes.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian will begin streaming on Disney+ on October 30. In the meantime, be sure to check out Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, an eight-episode docuseries that explores various facets of the magic behind the show through interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and roundtable conversations.
