Empire Releases World-Exclusive ‘Dune’ Covers for October Issue
In anticipation of the latest upcoming film adaption of Dune, Empire has revealed a set of world-exclusive covers for the magazine’s October issue.
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Arrival), Dune follows the story of young royal Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) as his life is uprooted when his family leaves their comfortable life on Caladan to oversee a spice mining operation on the dangerous planet Arrakis. His parents, Duke Leto and Lady Jessica, are portrayed by Oscar Isaac and Rebecca Ferguson, respectively.
Empire’s Dune issue includes brand new never-before-seen interviews and images from the film. The first cover features House Atreides, which includes Chalamet, Isaac, and Ferguson, as well as Josh Brolin’s master-at-arms Gurney Halleck.
The second cover shows the indigenous Fremen people of Arrakis, which includes tribe leader Stilgar (Javier Bardem), tribe member Chani (Zendaya), ecologist Liet-Kynes (Sharon Duncan-Brewster), as well as non-Fremen Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa).
Meanwhile, the special subscriber cover — created by Jane Yun and Enrique Torres at Bond — features one of Arrakis’ horrific, gigantic sandworms looming over Paul Atreidis.
Pre-order the House Atreidis cover, the Fremen cover, or a discounted bundle now. Issues will arrive on newsstands on Thursday, September 3.
Dune is set to premiere in theaters on December 18. Stay tuned for the official trailer, which will launch globally on September 9 at 9 a.m. PST. Meanwhile, those planning to see Tenet in theaters can catch a teaser for the trailer internationally on August 30 and in the US on August 31.
