A new anthology series is heading to Disney+ this fall, and today Disney released a few sneak peeks for the upcoming series ahead of their Comic-Con@Home panel, “A Look Inside Marvel’s 616” on Thursday, July 23 at 1 p.m. PT. The panel, moderated by Angélique Roché (host of Marvel’s Voices and The Women of Marvel podcasts) will feature director of episode 2 Gillian Jacobs, director of episode 4 Paul Scheer, and executive producers Sarah Amos and Jason Sterman.

Marvel’s 616, named after the primary reality in the Marvel comics world, “explores how Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters, and creators exist within the world outside your window. Each documentary, helmed by a unique filmmaker, explores the intersections of storytelling, pop culture, and fandom within the Marvel Universe. Films in this anthology series will cover topics including Marvel’s world-spanning artists, the trailblazing women of Marvel Comics, discovering the “forgotten” characters of Marvel, and much more.”

Episode 2, “Higher, Further, Faster”

Directed by Gillian Jacobs, episode 2 “Higher, Further, Faster” highlights the women of Marvel on their journeys fighting for representation and inclusion even before hitting the pages of the comics we know and love. In the clip below, get a small piece of the adventure Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel took from the mind of Sana Amanat (VP, Marvel Entertainment, Co-Creator of Ms. Marvel) to where she is today — a hero with her own Disney+ series in the works!

Episode 4, “Lost and Found”

Director/comedian Paul Scheer takes a look at some lost and forgotten characters of the Marvel Universe in episode 4, “Lost and Found” where he discovers Typeface, The Whizzer, Doctor Druid, and speaks to writer Reginald Hudlin on how he changed the legacy and popularity of the beloved hero Black Panther, propelling him to the ranks of Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor.

Each episode in Marvel’s 616 tells its own story brought to life by the filmmaker behind each documentary. It is produced by Marvel New Media with Supper Club. The series is executive produced by Joe Quesada, Shane Rahmani, Stephen Wacker, John Cerilli, Harry Go, and Sarah Amos for Marvel; and Jason Sterman, Brian McGinn, and David Gelb for Supper Club. The series will be available exclusively on Disney+ this fall.
