ICYMI: Chris Evans & Michelle Dockery Talk ‘Defending Jacob’ on SAG-AFTRA’s Conversations at Home

The Emmy race is heating up, and with Emmy talk comes some whispering (yelling) about the new Apple TV+ miniseries Defending Jacob.

Defending Jacob has taken the world by storm. An 8-episode miniseries based on the New York Times Bestseller by William Landay, it follows a family after their son is accused of murdering a classmate. The magic of the series lies in the focus of this story, as it isn’t so much about a murder, but rather how the tiny cracks in a family’s perfect facade can quickly shatter under the right pressure.

In a conversation with Jenelle Riley for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, stars Chris Evans and Michelle Dockery discuss their characters and how differently they handle their new shaken reality, their incredible ensemble work, how incredible Cherry Jones is (she’s as amazing as one would think according to them both), audition advice, and the difference between acting on stage versus behind the camera. If you haven’t seen yet, the stars delve into how they led their characters to their ending, so beware of spoilers!

Defending Jacob is currently available to stream in its entirety on Apple TV+. You can read our review of the series here!
