Apple TV’s ‘Black Bird’ Earns SAG Nominations
The SAG Award nominations were announced, and Apple TV’s Black Bird earned two nominations. A Screen Actors Guild Award is one of the most coveted awards for actors. This honor is voted on by their colleagues and therefore holds a special place in the industry.
Black Bird can boast that the performances of both leading actors have been nominated! Taron Egerton as James Keene and Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall are nominees in the category of Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series. This nomination comes one day after Hauser’s first Golden Globe win for the same role. Egerton also owns a Golden Globe for his work as Elton John in Rocketman.
Black Bird follows Egerton’s Keene as he is offered a deal that will shorten his ten-year prison sentence. If he can get a confession from suspected killer Larry Hall, played by Hauser, he can walk free. This intense and chilling thriller explores the effects of trauma, the pitfalls of the prison system, and how redemption often comes with a price.
Both Egerton and Hauser have worked hard to grow their careers over the past few years. These two actors work as a team in the series and feed off each other’s energy as the stakes grow, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
The SAG Awards will take place on February 26. Black Bird is now available to stream on Apple TV. Check out the full list of nominations here.
