Temuera Morrison to Appear as Boba Fett in Season 2 of ‘The Mandalorian’
Eagled-eyed Star Wars fans that speculated about the identity of a mysterious character at the end of the fifth episode of The Mandalorian, “The Gunslinger,” may have finally found vindication …
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Temuera Morrison (who previously portrayed Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, among other appearances in the Star Wars universe) is set to make a “small” appearance in the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian as the infamous bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
Though Boba Fett’s existence in the Star Wars universe was short-lived, as he first appeared in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and supposedly fell to his death into a sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi, he has remained a fan favorite character over the years.
Considering the timeline of The Mandalorian, which takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi, the show will have to do some backtracking to explain how exactly the bounty hunter is still alive. This wouldn’t be the first time this has happened in the Star Wars universe, as executive producer Dave Filoni pulled a similar stunt with Darth Maul in his animated series The Clone Wars.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian is set to premiere on Disney+ this October. In the meantime, don’t miss out on the incredible season 1 behind-the-scenes docuseries that is now streaming on Disney+, Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian!
