Coming in October, Season 2 of The Mandalorian is!

The first season of the Star Wars live-action television series, The Mandalorian, premiered on Disney+ last November. The show follows the travels of a lone Mandalorian bounty hunter, Din Djarin (portrayed by Pedro Pascal), who traverses the outer reaches of a post-Empire galaxy.

The Mandalorian was an absolute hit, as it tied in a heaping dose of nostalgia for the Star Wars fandom while also setting the stage with a carefully paced story and characters that welcomed new fans with open arms. Check out our review of the first season here.

The eight-episode run left audiences eager for more, especially with the knowledge that season 2 was already in production when the show premiered on Disney+’s launch date. Last December, series creator Jon Favreau announced that the second season would land on the streaming service in fall 2020, with no further information on a particular date or month.

However, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed today on a quarterly earnings call that season 2 of The Mandalorian will arrive this October! Release dates for other highly anticipated new series were also announced — The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is coming in August and WandaVision will arrive in December.

Stay tuned for more news on season 2 of The Mandalorian!
