Jason Mewes’ Directorial Debut ‘Madness in the Method’ Coming This August
Cinedigm has announced that is has acquired all North American rights to Madness in the Method, which will be the directorial debut of Jason Mewes. The comedy will host a star-studded ensemble, including Mewes, Kevin Smith, (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), Gina Carano (the forthcoming The Mandalorian), Danny Trejo (Machete), and Stan Lee, in what is believed to be his last onscreen role.
Cinedigm’s Executive Vice-President of Acquisitions Yolanda Macias shared her excitement in a press release:
We are thrilled to release ‘Madness in the Method.’ Jason made a hilarious film that is sure to give all of his and Kevin Smith’s fans the laughs they’ve been hungry for since ‘Clerks 2.’
In the film, Mewes has grown tired of Hollywood’s perception of him, so he embarks on a quest to reinvent himself as a serious actor. Upon advice from best friend Kevin Smith, Mewes tracks down a highly secretive method-acting book -– with disastrous consequences.
This film marks the return of iconic comic duo Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith and will be their first live action project together since Clerks 2.
Cinedigm will release the picture in select theaters, on demand, and digitally in August 2019, with a DVD and Blu-ray™ release to follow later in the year.
