David Haydn-Jones Returns to ‘Supernatural’
Holiday cheer came a little early to fans of David Haydn-Jones when Arthur Ketch made his return to Season 14 of Supernatural in the mid-season finale, “The Spear.”

We last saw Ketch in the episode “Exodus” last season where he fled the Apocalypse World and returned to the bunker. Mary Winchester told Bobby in the season 13 finale that he was off “doing Ketch things,” and though he has been referenced several times throughout this season, tonight’s on-screen return was a surprise for viewers.
Haydn-Jones, active in the Supernatural fandom at fan conventions and online, never said a word. At Creation Entertainment’s “Salute to Supernatural: Chicago” convention in July, a fan asked Haydn-Jones if he would be returning to the show in season 14, and he said at the time he had not heard anything from the show.
All of that is now in the past, as he did make an appearance in last night’s episode. Without the power and assistance of the British Men of Letters, Arthur Ketch did what any other regular human would do and mailed the Winchesters the egg they needed to get Michael’s grace out of the arch angel, much to the dismay of Team Free Will. “The Spear” is the 17th episode Arthur Ketch has been in according to IMBD, which puts him in the top 12 most often recurring characters in Supernatural history.
Keep an eye out for our recap of “The Spear” to see how that worked out for them, and we look forward to seeing Arthur Ketch return to our screens in the future!
