Robbie and Stephen Amell to Create “Code 8” Film

We’re pretty excited for this!

Earlier this year, actors Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell announced the launch of their Indiegogo campaign with the goal of raising funds for their first feature film, “Code 8.” Since its launch, the campaign has raised a total of $1,720,111 – a whopping $1,520,111 over their original goal – thanks to the help of dedicated fans. It really is no joke as to how powerful fandoms can be.

“Code 8” is set sometime in the future in which 4% of the world’s population had developed special powers. Because of their powers, those possessing such abilities are treated poorly and are forced to live in poverty. It follows Taylor Reed (Robbie Amell), a young man with special powers struggling to find work. After arguing with his friend about being shorted in their payment, Taylor is soon confronted by a police officer along with the many autonomous robot drones backing him up.

While Robbie Amell will be in the film, Stephen Amell will not be appearing in the film due to scheduling conflicts; instead, Stephen will be taking part as an executive producer.

Stephen recently posted a picture on his twitter of the script:

The film is currently in pre-production and will begin filming sometime next year. In the meantime, those anticipating the film can watch trailers on the “Code 8” YouTube channel or check for updates on their Indiegogo campaign.
