‘EXmas’ Trailer: Leighton Meester & Robbie Amell Bring New Meaning to Christmas Competition

Amazon Freevee today revealed the trailer for EXmas, a new holiday romantic comedy that stars Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Robbie Amell (Upload) as — you guessed it — exes.

Graham (Amell) decides to surprise his family with a visit home for the holidays but when he gets there, he finds that they’re already celebrating with another surprise visitor — Graham’s ex-fiancée, Ali (Meester). “The two exes battle it out to see who the family will pick to stay through Christmas Day, and who must go,” the official synopsis for the film reads.

“So are you and Graham talking anymore?” Ali is asked in the opening moments of the trailer. “No, his family on the other hand? I miss them,” Ali longingly expresses. Graham, on the phone with his parents Dennis and Jeannie (played by Michael Hitchcock and Kathryn Greenwood, respectively) are ecstatic about his trip home for the holidays. They are quickly let down once Graham lets them know he won’t be coming home because of a work deadline. His father wonders if it’s really because of Ali and Graham is quick to cut in: “Because she ripped out my heart and stomped on it?”

The cast of Exmas is rounded out with Veronika Slowikowska (What We Do in the Shadows) who plays Graham’s sister, Mindy; and Steven Huy (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies) who plays Graham’s brother, Elliott. EXmas is produced by BuzzFeed Studios. Richard Alan Reid, Michael Philip, and Jason Moring serve as producers. The film is directed by Jonah Feingold and written by Dan Steele. EXmas will release exclusively on Freevee in the U.S., UK, Germany, and Austria on November 17. The movie will also be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
